Société Générale Côte d'Ivoire opened its first 2.0 branch As part of its environmental policy and in compliance with Societe Generale group's CSR commitments, the subsidiary initiated its eco-energy transformation by deploying an ecological device among its branches and ATMs. Located in Katiola (Central North of the country), the branch is equipped with photovoltaic solar panels enabling it to produce 50% of its electricity needs by itself.

It is a hybrid device, provided with an artificial intelligence that ensures the synchronisation with the existing back-up energy supplies from the Compagnie Ivoirienne d'Electricité, a battery and a generator.

In order to optimise the functioning of the solar panels and to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, this new system comes with LED-type lighting, INVERTER technology air conditioning and a system which helps to know and minimise in real time the energy demand of the site.

Encouraged by this first success and determined to reduce its carbon footprint, Société Générale Côte d'Ivoire is willing to carry on with the implementation by the end of the year of a second solar branch in the city of Dimbokro, followed by 13 ATM's in the countryside and a private branch in Abidjan before the end of April 2019.
